minues the 1MZ, may as well shove a 2jz in.

I don't think a 5VZ would be considered "easy" for a VZV21 (SV21). From what I've read, it won't fit, i mean a 3VZ barely fits in tehre. so a 1MZ probably won't either.

I agree...a 3vz barely makes it, and an MZ's engine bay is cramped all to hell...might take a little more hammering and shoving to get it in there...j/k

5VZ..in a Gen 2?? haha...i think whoever wrote that didn't know much about the cars, but simply just took similar engines of the time. There is NO way a 5VZ would fit into a Gen 2..without...a completely new engine bay. The motor is also a RWD config motor, used in trucks. Making in FWD..with a tranny...would probobly be wider than the car!! haha. Mmmm..the thought...3.4L V6 in a Gen 2...supercharged...man thats a thought!

I agree with Jetspeed...the largest VZ engine that can likely fit into a Gen2 engine bay is a 3VZ FWD. Toymods.org should make that correction.

Aside from that, this should be made into a Sticky so we get less of the same ol question regarding engine swaps

Cool

Oh I don't know, if you can fit a 3vz in the bay, a 5vz should fit with custom mountings to lower it. It's more taller, than it is wide/long.

However, you'll definately have to see about 3vz-fe heads to use for the intake, as I don't think anyone particularly *wants* the intake pointed at the firewall

It's definately a mid-level swap, cause you'd need custom mounts, but it's not overly hard.

The problem is that you get into asking yourself why swap a 5vz-fe into a car when a 3vz-fe will requier less work? 0.4L differance does not make much hp wise (it helps the torque). 94+ 3vz-fe's start out with more hp than the 5vz-fe's do. (and earlier ones easily exceed 5vz hp with a/f tuning) Tho admittantly 5vz's also stand the same gains from the same fuel/ignition tuning.
