If people are willing to spend money on hids, then I don't see what the problem is with retro-fitting projectors.
as said, the clearing out part is the part that everybody worries about, and rightfully so, but if you have hids, the texture of the lense doesn't break up the light in anyway
I never finished my projector project because after I was half done, I realized that unless I got hids, OR cleared out the lense, I'd have a wackedout beam pattern that will glare like mad
and since I can't justify spending hundres on hids and I haven't had time to buy another set of lenses and clear them, the project's on hold
long story short -> if you have hids or want to get them, a projector retrofit is a cinch
