Gen5 Thanks for all the props, still work to do.

First off, Thanx for all the props guys.

They moved the thread showing my car pic's to "Show & Share".
You can click here to link to it.

I still have a few things I want to do:

1. Recalibrating my ECU at JET engineering in Huntington Beach.
2. Dyno run before and after the ECU change.
3. Maybe a NOS wet system.
4. A Solara dual gate style shifter.
5. Relocating the Battery to the trunk.
6. Insulated cold air box.
7. Grounding wires.
8. Finishing Dyna Matting my entire car.

Durrby,

I had planned on eye lids but somewhere along the way I spaced it. So thanks for the reminder. I've got them ordered and will post pic's when they're on.

Research NOS a bit so you don't blow your motor.

OMG that car is HOT.... You have the color I wanted. Plus the tinted windows and the real spoiler.... Those rims rock. I'd love to make my gen5 look close. The problem is that I have a Black XLE with an I4 so the spoiler might look out of place. But I do want to tint the windows. That window tint looks bad ass.

Serious props man. I love that car.

The tint is a Diamond Automotive Film. It's a metalized tint that actually rejects heat and UV. I live in Las Vegas and the quality of the tint is very important with the temperature reaching 115 in the summer. It's computer cut on a plotter so it fit's perfectly to each window.

And good eye dude , no one else noticed that on the front glass. It's called V-Kool and it looks almost perfectly clear from the inside of the car looking out. But has a great look from the outside looking in. It's designed for the front windshield, almost perfectly transparent yet in rejects almost all of the UV & IR rays. You know how you get in the car after it's been sitting in the sun for a few hours. The dash is so hot you could cook on it. Well with the V-Kool my car is parked in the full sun in the Las Vegas summer temperature over 100 degrees and my dash is just a little more than warm. Not hot to the touch at all.

Good Eye, Reaper.

Mike

I think? But don't really remember, I think the fronts are 35% and everything else is 20%.

If you click on the link at the start of this thread you'll see all the pictures including the front windshield.

No! Too much work and fabrication for my family hauler.
I would consider a TRD bolt on Super Charger if it became available.

I like Turbo's, but since I do all my own work on my ride a Turbo is out of the question. I need my car to take my 3 year old to day care and to go to work. I can only have my car down for a day at the most. I used to be a Certified ASE Master Mechanic but don't think I could install a turbo set up in a day. At least not a clean install (The only way I would consider it.).

Now a TRD Super Charger is a bolt on that would probably take only a few hours. I could live with that.

The funny thing is that the longest project I've had to date on my Camry was the Caliper paint job. It was a b*tch to do, taking almost 6 hours. And I had to leave my car up on the jack stands over night to let the paint dry. Everything else was only a few hours at the most, including the TRD lowering spring install.

Skip that idea. JET has been known to not do anything to ECUs and/or f**k them up.

Save your money and get something else to tune the engine.

I agree with 88 LE, screw jet, they are major scam artists. Thats just $500 down a hole, not to mention that tuning your near stock motor won't do much.

Otherwise though, your car looks awesome.
