I got my intake in for my car. Im looking at it, and it came with an extra tube and has a hole in the intake tube. WOndering what that goes to because I dont have a spot for it, atleast I dont see anything.
Just curious, I tried to search and look at others cars, didnt get the idea, lol.
Intake air temperature sensor goes in the hole to measure temp of incoming air, big nipple is for hose to the valve cover. Air goes thru hose thru crankcase thru pcv and back to intake. You can vaccum cap the nipple and put a breather filter on the valvecover. I plugged both holes in the intake and zip tied the AIT sensor to a wire loom close to filter inlet. It works fine.
did your intake come with a steel metal strip peice about 6-7 inches long? mine did, and i put it where the only logicaly place it could go, down below the filter behind the battery, pointing up to hold the intake in place a little bit.
Damn, I feel dumb. I missed that tube off the valve cover. It just didnt pop out at me, considering I have done this on my friends maxima, I should feel retarded. Alright, that tube is covered now. The sensor goes in the other hole? Thought it was a different size? But I will look into it this afternoon. And the last thing, that clip thats 6-7in long. Holds up the intake a little? Alright, will look at that too!
Okay I did it. But the Tube from the valve cover went into a nipper right after where my intake connects to. So the nipple on the intake was unused. I plugged it for now, but I guess a smaller filter for it would be fine or what?
^^^Thats what i'm wondering. I just got my intake in the mail today. If we use the hose from the intake and connect it to the nipple on the valve cover, what happens to the end of the hose that was removed from the valve cover??? Now that hose is disconnected.
