Seal, timing belt, water pump, mounts fair price

Hi All,
I have a mechanic neighbor who does side work. He said he will replace main seal, water pump, timing belt, thermostat, front motor mount and dog bone mount for between $500-600 dollars. Is that a fair price? I have a 92 Camry auto 4 cylinder with 150K on it.

Thanks

I support shade tree mechanics but I would confirm with him on quality of parts. Sometimes an over zealous mech may use price instead of quality to get price really low. Even if its a fantastic install, poor quality mounts fail fast and damage the other mounts.

CDN approximate Toyota prices, main seal $5.00, water pump $125.00, timing belt $40, thermostat $20, front mount $100, dog bone $60 ... total $350-$400 parts.

DIY labor =$0.0 and beer $20.

about $300 USD total.

I just got my oil pump, water pump, belts, underdrive pulley, and timing belt done for $747
The valve cover gasket and motor and trans mounts were another $750. Sounds fair to me.

Thanks all,
He did it yesterday. No more oil leak! He used a local parts dealer. I believe the parts cost about $275.00. Hopefully, the parts quality will be ok.

What was the labor? About five hours?
