TINY PROBLEM (dome light)

I just bought some dome light blue LED bulbs and replaced the bad one in my 94 camry. I set the switch to DOOR and the light worked when the door opened the first time. Now the bulb only works when I set the switch on the ON position and when I set it to DOOR it only flashes once when the door is open and flashes once when the door closes. What can be causing this? any ideas? Thanks for all and any help.

it's probably a faulty door switch,

does it malfunction when you open other doors?

Well when I first installed the bulb and opened the door the bulb stayed lit like its supposed to. Now when I open the door I can see the bulb flash once and it doesn't stay lit, and when I close the door it flashes once more.

What do you mean by "does it malfunction when you open the doors" does what malfunction? All my doors close and open with no problems and when any of the doors are open, I see the open door sign light up on the dash.

i mean; do you also have the problem when you open the passenger door, for example ?
i suspect it is the switch that has gone bad on the driver's side
could be anything else too but; just trying to troubleshoot

Yes, the problem is the same for all doors. I just dont understand why it worked the first time when I installed the bulb and then after that any door I open the bulb will just flash once...never tried a LED bulb before. I will buy a regular bulb and see if that works. Thanks though.

Did you install correct voltage/wattage?

Get a replacement bulb (OEM) and replace your LED for now. Does it work fine already? If it does, the LED might be at fault. If it still flashes once when you close/open the door, it could be the switch, dome light assembly, or something else in your car.

The voltage/wattage is correct, same as the OEM. Right now I don't have a good original bulb to test. I will get regular bulb tomorrow and test it out.

I think it may be to the control of the bulb by the system. It is under a control circuit. (for the auto dim and auto shut off) depending on the year.

Have you put the standard bulb back in as a test ??

It is possible an LED system may not work properly.
