Just wondering if anybody has a Toyota repair manual for a gen 2 w/3S-FE.

If so can you check something for me? I need to know if it has a diagram and schematic of everything that plugs into the fuse box (the one under the hood).

I have a Toyota ewd (electrical wiring diagram) manual for a 88 Camry w/3S-FE. It only shows the relays, fuses, and plug numbers. No schematics of the stuff that plugs into the fuse box.

What I'm looking for is something like this:

P.S. No Haynes/Chiltons crap. I'm looking for diagrams from a factory (Toyota) repair manual aka BGB or TSRM.

Hey 88LE,

i have the engine repair manual but its not really specific, it does have a section on the 3sfe but i cant find the diagrams that you want. all i have are the following sections for 3sfe:
- Engine Mechanical
- EFI System
- Ignition System
- Starting System

so as you can see mine is very general...

if there's anything in those sections then let me know. Its funny that you dont have it in your EWD tho, the Engine manual wouldnt cover this would it?

Yeah.

The picture that it shows of the fuse box is very plain. It just shows the relays, fuses, and plugs.

The other diagrams/schematics refer to stuff in the fuse box. But no schematic just for the stuff in the fuse box.

If I can't find a schematic I'll have to break out my DMM and trace everything that plugs into the fuse box. Its gunna be a pain in the ass.

I'll have to call Toyota customer service during the week and ask them.

Haha... If I have to, I will.

Its not a big deal. I majored in electronics and I use to work as a installer (car stereo & alarms). So I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out.

Just trying to figure out the wiring for a 3S-GTE swap ahead of time.

I haven't been able to find any wiring info for a 3S-GTE swap into a gen 2.

Hey 88LE,

I have the Factory Wiring Manual and also the pullout diagrams in the Factory Repair Manual. Unfortunately I don't have access to a scanner.

You need J/B and R/B No. 2 info. right?

What specifically?

I can try to draw it and label it with a photoshop program or equivalent.

Here is the next view. I will try to see if I can find a scanner at work tomorrow to use because the inner circuit is gonna be a bear to draw out.

Those drawings will work. However if you can scan the diagrams, that would be even better.

P.S. My ewd manual shows another plug thats not in the 2nd diagram you drew. Its labeled "2D" in my manual.

Hey man, sorry about that. (Frustrating as hell when ppl make a 1/2 ass post when you need the correct info, right?.....) I was trying to be as careful as I could but I had a lot going on this a.m.

Anyway, you are right. There is another plug, with just a "1" in it that is labelled 2D.

I will try to track down a scanner tomorrow.

Don't worry about it. Its just one plug with a single wire.

what i leanred with my 5sfe - 1mz swap was to wait until you have the wiring harnesses in your hands and you can actually see what you have. i tried to plan it out ahead of time and everything was remotely straight forward, but once you get the things, you will have extra wires that you need to figure out and random plugs that you have no place for... being prepared is good, but it can only get you so far. most of the stuff will be almost common sense for you 88, but i'd wait till you have some harnesses to play with.
