Hey peeps. i just got 18s for my cam cam. Should i get 215-40-18 or 215-35-18? I heard the camry is too heavy for those sizes, What sizes have you people wirth 18s used. I also heard with 18s on a camry, they'll blow up when you hit a lot of bumps... Let me know...
With 35's you will see lots of gaps between fender and wheel...which is ugly... I believe that 40s tires are the correct size for your car... They won't mess up your speedometer either. Tires are tires, they won't blow up unless you got FIRESTONE! One time, I jumped my Mustang with 255-40-ZR18 tires on, and they handled it fine... You won't blow them up. Mustangs are heavier than Camrys.

It should be
7.5" wide = 225
8" wide = 235

I said "fine". Ford puts 245 on 17 X 8 wheels. I said 225 because he has Camry. As Rookie said, he has to know what he is doing so that 235 tires don't rub.
Those are 235/40-18 tires.......not 35, and yes, they are much FATTER then my old 225/40-18.....and more rubber means I can fly over potholes more......
Yes....225 with 7.5" rims and 235 with 8" rims are the requirment from the tire manufactory........but I can still mannaged to mount 235 tires on my 7.5" rims and they are just fine.
Again, I am just lucky enough to spend 3 years of research about tires/rims and get this PERFECT spec for solara with 18"......so far, no rubbing and other crazy thing happen to my new tires, and KUMHO are surprisingly CHEAP and GOOD quality then I thought.....
Yeah I had 245 40 ZR 18 Kumho when I had my Mustang. First few miles were pretty slick since they weren't broken in, but after a while they did pretty good. I don't know about rainy days though... They are not the most sticky tires on water..
