Manual Transmission Swap?

I'm very interested.... anyone here done it? I saw it on the tt-cc.com site... it was under someones mod's section... i think his name was Jeff?
Anyway, could someone help me out here?

that was probably jeffs car, yeah.

he did a tranny swap on his 4-cyl and i did one on my 6-cyl.

Manual Transmission Swap?

according to this "toyota specialist" there was never a gen 4 5 speed. so what can i do ? a gen 3 manual trans to a gen4 frame and engine? help???

thanks, im gonna look into it. How much did it finally cost all together? Did you put it in yourself? Or get a shop to do it for you? Cuz trust me, this is one thing I wont do by myself, haha

They did make 4th gen 5 speeds

I got a fourth gen camry v6 5 speed.

they also made the 5sfe 4 cylinder in a 5 speed

there ARE gen4 5-speeds in both 6-cyl and 4-cyl, however the V6 5-speeds were sort of rare.

also from information ive gathered, the V6 5-speed transmissions should be the same from 92-00. There may be minor differences in the tranny mounts due to the possibility of differing subframes. The manual tranny code for V6's is E153.
