trailer harness
Ya, I know I have no manual, but I also didn't think I'd need one for something this simple. I'm wiring a utility trailer to my 98 V6 Camry XLE. The trailer has separate turn signals so I don't need any electronics, just a straight wiring job. If you can point me to where I could find an on-line schematic or complete my guesses below, I would be very appreciative.
-all references are at the connector for the left lamps, except the right
turn signal.
right turn: green w/yellow
brake: green w/red
left turn: green w/black
My problem is locating the ground and the running lamp. Ground appeared
to be the green, but with running lamps on, both green and the green
w/orange show 12V.
Second concern is I think I should be ahead of the lamp sensor. Where is and what does this sensor look like?
I am presuming that circuits use a switched 12V and ground is always
connected. Some vehicles use the opposite, with ground being switched.
Please let me know if that is the case with the Camry.
I hate to think that automotive technology has reached the point that I
cannot wire a simple trailer harness without going to a specialist, but
it may be so. No useless remarks...please
TIA :o)
