Im in the process. i have a Gen4. I strat by sanding with a 400 grit sand paper and the washing with soap and water. Then i use a primer designed for plastics. Then any spray paint. I used cheap stuff from can tire. Looks Sick!!! Its always shinny! So no need to put that armorall crap on every week! Took me a long time cause i work 2 jobs and had hardleay any time. It was kind of fun driving around with ALL my dash off. Go for it man you'll be happy with the results

Just get a a phillips and a slotted screw driver, find the screws attaching the pieces. I have a gen 4 so it might be different.
Glovebox, 5 screws, 3 on top one on each side at the bottom
center console, 2 bolts in the storage container, 2 screws underneath the shifter cover plate, the cover plate pops off, you have to dissconnect the plugs from the light for the ash tray and the cig lighter and the accesory plug.
The trim around the deck and heating controls pops off with 4 clips
The center front trim (the biggest piece has 6 screws and 2 clips, its a bitch!) 2 screws down by the shifter and 2 just underneath where the deck would be. the other two are located one on each side at the very bottom, one near the glove box and one near thr divers right foot.
The piece underneath the steering whell has 2 screws and 2 clips(clips are a bitch!) One that is attched by the divers left legs and one attched the the big middle peice. The floot boards by the dor are just held by clips, you can snap em off by hand. Then the piece thats way back by the dirver s left foot has a clip and a screw witha black cover on it. This peice is also located on the passenger side by the passengers left foot. I dont want to tell you how to get the airbag off, cause it will probably go off in you face. I hope some of this helps

Dustin,
Could you please post a pic of your dash. I'm interested in painting mine and I would like to see how yours turned out.

nah, just the plastic stuff, so like the lower half. Im gonna get that leather like stuff, the upper half of the dash painted professionally, i don t have the right equip, im also gonna get my gf to paint some cool camry decals on the dash. Shes a painter. Finally a woman that can do something useful! I painted it white and black. Careful when you take off the trim around the vents , they are a bitch they have 4 clips and on the middle one there is 8 plus a screw hloding it in underneath the 4way switch! i couldnt get to the screw so i just cut off part of the plasctic on the back of it, i figured 8 clips could hold a 1 oz piece of plastic on! It looks good man go for it.
