3rd Generation 3rd Gen Camry Idle question!

Hi everybody!

I have a 94 v6 2 door camryand i wonder what controls my idle rpm at start. Is there a sensor. Is it the computer. Because when i start my camry the idle is high until the temperature gets between the cold and hot. And that happens even if i park it in a garage were its less colder then outside. Can somebody help me!tks

All cars do that, its normal. In the summer time it'll do it for less than 30 seconds. Its liek when your body is cold, and your teeth start to chatter, your body is doing that to warm you up. Nothing to worry about.

^^ No, I usually pull off after a minute after turning the car on. Its not neccessary and doesnt do any damage if you leave before then, but some people like to wait.. I on the other hand am almost always running late for something haha

Not all cars do that, alot of American cars don't do that. They start up and the RPM is less than 900, no matter how cold. The stick shift camrys idle long in the summer time too, cuz there's no auto trans. in there. If you have a stick shift and the mounts are bad, you won't wanna start driving until the engine warms up a bit.

Tks again. That was exactly the question i was asking my self becauz before i had a chrysler intrepid and it started at 1,000 rpm no mather how cold it was and after a couple of seconds it went down

Thats why i found it weard in my camry to idle so high it was at 1,700 rpm when it was cold.

I would have a last question seriously .
I have a heard wisling sound at 50 kmh. This sound occurs only at 50 kmh when i just but a litttle bit of gas it does that sound when the rpm are lower then 1,700.
Is it because its gonna shift gear, because i found out it shifts the 3 gear i think when you rol normal like at 60 kàmh or something like that.
