E153 bolts up to 5S-FE?

Will an E153 5 speed bolt up to a 5S-FE? It seems that since the E153 bolts up to a 3S block it should bolt up to a 5S-FE since the two blocks share bolt patterns. Can anyone confirm this?

yes. for the proper 5sfe/e153 clutch/flywheel setup, you need:
-5sfe flywheel
-5sfe pressure plate
-3sgte clutch disc

if you are putting this in a 97 camry i4, which is what i assume from your name...
besides the clutch/flywheel setup you will need:
-v6 drivers side axle (gen 3 or 4)
-on the passenger side you need 3sgte (mr2 turbo OR celica alltrac) inner axle
-and gen 3 camry v6 outer axle.
-wheel hubs(steering knuclkes)
-calipers
-and rotors.

i might still be worried about the carrier bearing setup. Im not sure that the mr2 inner axle carrier bearing fits into the 5sfe motor mount. Wraith would probably be the only person to know this for sure.

Thanks Zoni, I am planning my 3S GTE swap and I have $1500 saved up so far and I was like hmm, could I drop in the tranny now and save myself work later? I already have a clutch pedal and master cylinder installed and I bought a shifter and cables from Mobes so I'm getting anxious to put it all in! I figure I can find an E153 in decent shape for around $900 and then axles are about $200 each, hubs, calipers, I want it in now I don't want to wait 7 months!

i wouldnt change to e153 now... do it when you swap the motor... you basically have to take out the motor to swap the tranny, so i'd just wait till you have a motor. you like taking th motor out? if so then do it twice, if not, do it once.
