Hey guys i have access to a wheel balancing machine and i just had a question. I know how to balance steelies when you can clip on weight on both outer and inner edge of the rims. Now my question is, the wheels that have lips or that are unable to clip any weight on the outer edges. How can you balance the outer side of the rims that aren't able to clip or stick on any weights?
Yea, I just got those adhesive weights but still I'm confused on how to put it on the outer side. The pictured wheel is different than my 18's. I have about two inches of lip to the outer edge of the tire/wheel. Also the only place that i can stick those adhesive weights are near the center of the wheels. The lips on the rims look similar to your signature picture.
I used to balance wheels at the wheel shop that I worked at.
The computer will decide where to put those things on. You can set it where you can tell the computer what kind of wheel it is and what not. So it will place the weights in places where it will maximize the balancing. Kinda hard to explain but it works.

Hey, I know that the machine that i'll be working with will allow me to set offset and other adjustments. Would adjusting the offset help me to set the weights only on the inside and the center and not the lip side?

The one I worked with only allowed me to put the weights in the inside cuz that's the way it was made. It's basically for custom wheels that don't attatch the weights on the inside.

I guess my earlier comments need clarification...typically, those weights what were 'ancient' were visible externally, they attached to the lip (outside). the adhesive wheel weights attach at various positions (not always lips - hence inside) to give you a great balanced wheel. but i guess w/o knowing what i'm talking about this would be confusing...
i notice some cars have the wheels stick out. so when you look at a car from behind or from up front, you see the wheels have a farther separation from each other. what do you need to do that? i just wanna stick my wheels out about an inch, nothing more. sorry i'm not really familiar with suspensions...

i think you can get wheel spacers that can help offset your wheels a bit for a wider stance, it would look pretty fly though!

Wait... you mean that customs wheels don't attach the weight on the inside? or outside? You just said that you put the weights on the inside cuz that's the way it was made.
