You guys think this will work?

For a while I've been wanting to make my own headers. I don't really care if they make the car faster it's just something that seems like a good project...anyway, I'm taking a welding course next week and I had these guys laying around...

I was thinkin' maybe I could save myself some time and use these as an intermediate pieces between headers and the cat. Obviously I'd have to fab up something where the two flanges come together but does it look like this could possibly work? (imagine the front bank of cylinders to the left and the rear bank to the right)

With the amount of piping you'll need to buy for a set of headers, I'd just do it right and buy what you need for your Y-pipe too. There isn't anything there that looks like it would benifit you much.
