3rd Generation interior dash lights not working!!

I just finished installing an Alpine cd player in my 1992 Camry and promptly blew the radio fuse doing it but now my interior dash light and cigarrette lighter light doesn't work! I had to remove the fuse for the wiper to use for the radio (both 20amp) so I don't have that fuse in yet. Could that be the fuse for the dash lights also? Can anyone tell me which is the dash lights on the car? I didn't get the proper owners manual with my car so I can't really tell. THX!

Check the fusebox under the steering wheel, it's on the left wall...my interior lights fuse was in there, I would think it's there for yours too.

Why did you have to remove the wiper fuse?

But what is the label that the dashboard lights fuse under? As I said, I don't have the manual anymore and can't tell which is which.
I removed the wiper fuse because I didn/t have any 20 amp fuses to test the cd player and the only one available was the wiper fuse in the box under the hood. Desperate measures my friend. Another thing is it;s not the interior lights, only the dashboard and the ashtray light that doesn't light up anymore, everything else seems ok - the overhead light, the stereo light, and the gauge lights too.

Those lights are controlled by the rheostat dimmer. Some head units have a different set-up for illumination (some require + voltage, some require grounding) so I would look at the illumination or dimmer lead from radio because that would tie into the circuit controlled by the rheostat. It could be the source of the problem.

There should be a label when you remove the cover of the fusebox, it'll say what each one is. If there isn't, then just pull out each fuse until you see one that's blown.

well, solved most of the problem and the stereo sounds sweet but my dimmer doesn't work at all now. I blew 3 fuses replacing the friggin' stereo! Is there an actual separate fuse controlling the dimmer on the dash lights themselves? These Camrys are strange beasts. thanks!
