3rd Generation Turn signal failing

My left turn indicator is not working (flasher unit under dash, behind glovebox).
It works sometimes, but most of the time it doesn't.
Right turn and 4-ways work fine.

I replaced the original Flasher module back about 2-3 years ago with an $85 CDN OEM/Toyota module. It worked fine until about 2 weeks ago. So I bought an aftermarket one, "TRIDON" I think, for $15 CDN. I finally got around to replacing it today - it fit, worked left-right-4way, so I closed up the dash, and sure enough, went out a few hours later and sh!t, left turn stopped working again

All bulbs are fine too.

How to I trouble shoot this one ? Is there wiring going bad ? Has anyone had this problem before ?

Thanks,
Ken

PS Yeah, left turn indicator isn't working...is working....isn't working,,,,is working..hahaha

Well, I fixed the darn thing !

Here's the long story....

I started under the dash at the signal relay and proptly gave up following all the wires

I then took the lower dash off under the steering wheel.

The three clusters of wires (one being the big thick yellow airbag) 2 of which go into a multi-contact connector, looked easy to poke at. I started from left to right and while the left blinker was working, I just touched each wire, sure enough, I touched the 3rd or 4th wire and the blinker stopped. I pulled it up and the blinker started again, pushed it deeper into the connector and it stopped. I pulled the wire down harder and it came out of the steering column - cleanly broken wire. Whoo Hoo. So I fished out the other end and slpiced them together. Voila - fixed !

Cheers,
