4th Generation Brake Light Stays On Sometimes

My eBrake light (I never use my e-brake) will just get stuck on sometimes, seemingly on cold mornings. What the hell is this all about? What can I do to fix it? The brake will be down but the light stays on.. is this damaging my car in anyway?

i have a 1999 Camry XLE V6

Also, what is in the coolant container under the hood.. to the top left? I have pink crap in mine, I've never seen pink antifreeze/coolant.. Thanks.

I think the brake light also comes on when the brake fluid is low, at least it does on mine...so check the brake fluid reservoir.

Yes, check your brake fluid. If it's low, the light will come on.
BTW,Toyota coolant is red.

also brake fluid is sposta be a light colour .... mine was kinda black with dirt and make the float switch stick ...... get a turky baster or surnges (cvs should have them) suck some fluid out and then add some clean fluid ... doing this a few times should get it clean and free moving

brake light is prolly low coolant as pads wear, piston on calipers moves further out therefore increasing displacment, "emptying" brake reservoir. Prolly what is wrong. Normal thing to happen as brake pads wear. Also if it's to the point that the pads are that worn, now would be a good time to check them.

Pink stuff in coolant reservoir is suppose to be that color. This is long life coolant which is actually superior to green coolant (suprisingly is also costs more). Now would probably also be a good time to change the coolant, or have it done. Do a search and see what it entails, or you might just wanna pay to have it done. Even though it looks OK there is a good possibility it isn't as it becomes acidic over time, eating away at the insides of your engine. If you do it yourself I'd wait till summer, amount of time differnce won't make a difference. Good Luck!
