why a camry?

Can someone pls explain to me the current buzz about camry's? Why is everyone in love with them? It seems like they're the new civic... but I can't see why, they're ugly cars imo

find something else better to do with your time than coming into forums and asking questions that dont have direct answers.

drunk7daysaweek, I want you to get this grip of reality and realize everyone has their own likes and dislikes. For us, we love camrys and no they are not ugly. In fact, camrys are one of the best looking cars out there. I would rather drive a camry than a riced out civic anyday. So don't hate, appreciate.

camry's and civic's are even comparable. Civic's were the 'in' thing cus they were cheap. Cheap to buy and cheap to modify. I don't consider camry's cheap, they are a nicely pricey car. You get what you pay for IMO. You see more camry's cus they outsell others...after all they are america's # 1 selling car AGAIN!

I dont know what "current buzz" you're talking about.

Its has always been the thing to get if its the car you like, just like civics have been the thing to get if you like that car. Point is everycar has some advantages, camry's have alot, and it doesnt matter whether you may think its an ugly car, or not efficiency is the real ass-beater here. Looks get old.

If you don't know anything then don't make any rash judgements.

^do u have one? if not i don't even see y u are here?

the site here is ToyotaNation.com and we are here because we love toyotas (specifically camrys in this forum...) and alot of us here don't have enough money to waste on a civic (every other car on the road is a civic) plus u compare civics to celicas and accords to camrys...gotta be in the right class

plus, driving around, i can guarantee u see more modified civics than camrys which is why we do it, to be different...

if u like camrys, cool, if not, thats ur opinion (that we really don't need to hear) b/c unless ur car is "pimp my ride" material, i respect everyone and all that they've done to their cars, even if i don't like it...

there's no reason to shoot people's dreams down, just have an open mind (sry if i bit ur head off i just have [personally] gotten too many disrepectful comments about modding my camry...)

God... this guy is a total ass. He posts nothing but stupid shit on the offtopic forums, makes himself looks like total ass-hat, and he comes in here and asks us why? Like Celeste said, "WHAT BUZZ???"

It's a good car with smooth lines. It has come with a very torquey V6 (something not found in hondas). The wheel base is very wide and when upgraded, the suspension is great for track racing. They also have many options. 1992 through 2001, the 4 cylinder model of the Camry was the 5s-fe. This could easily be swapped out for the Celica/MR2 turbo motor the 3s-gte. And later Generations of the MR2 used the 5s-ge. So parts made for the MR2 (like turbos and internals) could be applied to the Camry motor.

And Gen 3 Camrys even came in a Coupe option. Overall, it's a great car to drive. Mine has leather, electronic seats, a moon roof, and premium sound. It's a great car to drive day to day

But if you want speed, why not an Acura? If you want luxury, why not a Sonata?

Acura = FWD also. And they cost more than they are worth for what your getting. And they aren't that fast.

And I have a Sonata also. My '92 Camry has every option the Sonata came with, with the exception of Projectors. They're nothing amazing. This is everything in one. And it has endless potential. We have some Camrys on the board right now pushing 600hp at the wheels.
