3rd Generation replacing original shocks

Its time to replace my original shocks on my '92 v6 with 270k miles. I did a search but didn't see anything that applied to me but I am sure I missed something. I am not looking for high performance, just some decent shocks that will not cause my wallet to pass out. Could I just get them from my local auto zone or do I need to worry about a particular brand? Thanks.

Tokicos are popular for the sportier feel, while KYBs are whats recommended for the closer to stock crowd. Heard okay comments about Monroes.
Go for full struts instead of inserts. Look at spring options, they are not that expensive as the originals have to come off when you swap shocks.
