Question about battery relocation

I'm just about to relocate my battery to the boot.
I've got evertthing I need except I was thinking of adding a circuit breaker near the battery.
Ill be using 4GA cable, which runs down the length of the car to the main terminal in the engine bay. I will just bolt the cable to the post.
Even though this post has the 3 main fuses for the car, I was thinking a circuit breaker near the battery would be a good idea.
There is a 100AMP breaker available from a local electronics shop. It is supposed to trip at 110AMPS. Would my car draw more than that??. I wouldn't want my car shutting off because of the breaker tripped!!

Thanks.

youll never trip that... a cam battery is around 45 amps =)

youll only need 8 age for the mains positive really, but if you already got 4 age then its all good. you can just run a 60a fuse or something near the battery...

^^^right...just make sure u no matter what u're fusing, don't get too high or else it won't do anything...

u could always use a fuse for amplifier power (i have a 60A fuse on my power wire for my system)

* ur talking about circuit breakers and i wasn't...althou same concept...

That guys. 45amps is pretty low!! Thats the starter current yeah?
That circuit breaker will be good for short circuits. The 4GA cable I have running was from my stereo..so thatll be perfect then. Some people were saying to install 0 guage..i thought that was a LITTLE to big..haha.
Anyways..thankyou.

I didnt actually relocate my battery but I have installed a 2nd battery in the boot of my car. I used 4G cable and hooked the 2 battery's together using a Matson dual battery charging kit. It's probably not a good idea to run a live cable the whole length of your car without a fuse but I would think a 60Amp inline fuse close to the battery should be good enough for what you want. Will stop the car from going boom if the power wire ever gets severed and earths out.

^ Nice Toysrme....that the exact model i was after....

Question regarding the grounding...
Would it be neccesary to run a 4GA "Ground Wire" from the battery (-) to the engine bay and use a distribution box to branch out 4 8GA wires to the normal points in the engine bay??
Or is fixing the 4GA wire from the battery (-) to the seatbelt bolt enough?

I grounded my battery to a threaded hole in the tercel's trunk with a 4ga wire. Under the hood I took the negative terminal and connected it to a lead 'adapter' for side post batteries. This adapter is bolted to the old battery tray after cleaning the paint off. I do not have a second battery, mine was moved on first car for weight distribution, on second for transmission clearance.

Just ground the battery in the trunk or on the seatbelt bolt as you stated. If you can run a competition system that pulls 150amps through 0-1 gauge wire and ground it near the amp, then there's no reason you can't do the same for your setup.

Anytime you run multiple batteries you want them mounted as close together as possible. Seperating them adds strain on the system.
