More Car Troubles

I have a 1993 I4 Camry LE. Ive had alot of problems with it but love the camry so do not want to get rid of it.

Right now it currently has no hood and does not run. Yesterday I went out to work on getting it running again and removed the tarp over the hood and found my valve cover covered in this white powder. I tried searching so I apologize if this has been discussed before.

What is this caused from and to fix it can I simply just clean it? Or does this mean something else is wrong.

Also I purchased some used Bosal headers a little while back and no rain or snow got on them but the moisture must have caused them to rust anyways. But is this a big problem that I should get fixed soon or should it be ok for a while.

One more thing I still have some other known problems to fix? Should I look into getting a new car or just fix the camry?

The valve cover is aluminum. Aluminum oxidizes, thats what that white powder residue is.

You can clean it. If its really bad, you'll have to wirebrush or sand it off.

Rust is not good. It'll only get worst and eventually eat through.

If the rust is not to bad, you can remove it. Then think about having it ceramic coated.

It really depends on the overall condition of the car.
Aluminium corrosion clues me that the whole thing has been sitting a while.
I would make a list of things that need to be done, post it and maybe someone can give you an estimate on what they think.

Ok, thanks for the help. I'll have to think about what all needs to be done. It's been sitting since before Winter started. I'm sure theres alot that needs to be done.
