Room in the Bumper Lights?

Is there enough room in the Bumper Lights to put Liteglow Crusin' Lights in there?

Id like to wire the Crusin' Lites to the turn signals so they blink at the same time.

OR

In all honesty Id LOVE to be able to add something that would allow me to use 1156 Bulbs in the Bumper Lights, because Im about to pick up the 'Sparkle' 1156 Bulbs (Multi-Colored - See link below) and I want the bumper lights to match and sparkle too.

Sparkle 1156 Bulbs

Either way, I want to hook something up to work in the Bumper Lights.

Peace

I'm not familiar with "Liteglow Crusin' Lights" so I can't really answer your Q. However, those "Sparkle" lites would look really nice this holiday and make me the envy of the nieghborhood this Christmas

XTC- you seem to like "lighting" effects. I know you're new to this modding thing, but speaking from experience, do yourself a favour and save your hard earned money! Those designer bulbs command designer prices and do absolutly nothing to enhance the performance of your car. Not to mention it's illegal and could very well get you an unnecessary ticket! If that's not enough reason, it's not safe. There's a reason why your lights are a certain colour. It allows you to communicate with other drivers on the road. You are comprimising the safety of you and your passangers (wife) by heavily altering your lights.
With that said, perhaps you may want to consider what I would think would be a wiser purchase. Direct your money intelligently by investing in a realtively inexpensive mod such as a strut tower brace that will make your car handle slightly better.
If I'm out of line, I apologize and I will keep my thought to myself in the future. I'm just trying help you get the most out of your car tastefully, legally and safely. At the end of the day it's your money and your car so feel free to proceed. Nothing personal. Just my 0.02. You can ignore me now

no offense taken!

I dont take that the wrong way at all. I didnt know the sparkle bulbs were illegal either. :o

My personal choice was going to be to relplace the front turn signals with the new LED Amber lights.....looks custom and still gets the 'proper' job done, but since its her car im just here to throw some 'ideas' out there.

Im sure she'll change her mind after she figures out they could land her a ticket. Thanx for the heads up.

Anyways, the lights I want to put in the Bumper lights are completely legal (white or amber). I just want to get some use out of those bumper spots.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

peace

Okay, I still don't quite understand your question
You want to replace the bulbs in the bumper signal/parking light with amber or white LED bulbs? If that's the case, I'm still lost. The bumper lenses themselves are amber and so whatever colour bulb you replace it with, it will still emit an amber colour through the lenses (unless you got clear ones). Even if you had clears, why go backwards and put amber LEDs in? If it's still not apperant, I'm confused (and not intoxicated)

lol

Ok. Maybe Im the one thats confused. I thought the Bumper lights DID NOT actually light up (?). If they do.....well then I feel stupid

If they do, then what bulb is it classified as? I go to Slyvania to view their guide to replacing bulbs, and the only bulb that looks like it COULD be it is the parking lights (bulb #168). And if thats the case, Ill just get clear bumpers and leave the white light in.

1996 Camry Bulb Replacement Guide

PS:Is it possible to wire it to blink with the turn signals (or does it already?)

Last try!

Check out this quick pic I did;
http://www.imagestation.com/mypictures/inbox/view.html?id=4252697550&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.i magestation.com%2Fpicture%2Fsraid27%2Fpad7b4346fd7 0d0ceca6e90eb6f13cdd2%2Ffd7b03ce.jpg&caption=9 6_front

I hope this clears up all the confusion. The lights beside the headlight(circled ingreen) is simply a 168 wedge bulb that doesn't blink. The other bulb in the bumper (circled in red) is a 1156 (oops...typo in the pic. It should be 1156) bulb that flashes when you activate your turn signal.

thanx

Thanx a ton Phi. See, I thought the turn signal was in the green circle, or is there one there along with the bumper turn signals?

The reason I ask is Sylvania says the turn signals are 1157, and you mentioned the bumper light was a 1156. Is the bumper just a secondary turn signal to the one on the corners?

PS:Is it illegal to replace the turn signals, bumper lights and the 168 side wedge bulbs with White ones?

Re: thanx

The bumper lights (red) are the ONLY turn signal in the front of the vehicle. The other (green) light DOESN'T flash at all. As for whether it's 1156 or 1157, I'm pretty sure is 1156. I believe it only has one filament. Dble check the stamp on the base of the bulb to make sure. I'm bad with numbers and memorizing

The legistics of how I interprut the the traffic laws is that the bulbs on the front of the vehicle must be either white or amber and not consist of more than 4 at any one time. Red=Rear. Blue=slow vehicles and snow ploughs. Purple is unregulated but generally used by hearses during funerals.
