Well guys....today I entered my first real show...and was actually pritty happy with the results. IASCA sponsored a car/audio show in Columbia, SC on sat...and I decided this was the perfect occasion to test my new install. Well I had to work hard to clean up things with my stereo...and opted to invest in a new amp and sub to replace my lower end components. So by Sat I had 2 JL W-3 DVC 12in subs and 2 AutoTek 500.2 amps. I entered the novice class (stock as they call it) in the 2 12s or 3 10s division. Out of the 15 cars that entered that level, I finished 5th. Although I picked a really bad track to play at the sound off, and probably could have tuned the amps better, I ended up with the best out of 2 score of 137.9 DBLs. 1st place was 141....so I was a bit off that mark, but for my first DBL drag I was really happy. I think with the addition of a new cap, dynomat, and a good crossover, I should be able to pass the 140 mark. I also added a strip of neon above the amps to highlight the chrome of the Autoteks. Well I will post pics of my new additions and of the show, which include a handfull of really nice Celicas. Unfortunately I was the only Solara, or Camry for that fact there.

Oh btw....I learned a trick for those who might be interested in doing one of these things. Right before you are about to take your reading, run your AC really hard for like 10 minutes. Colder, more dense air will actually help add a few DBLs over a car with a very hot interior. Just FYI.

Great, so does that mean my stereo is going to play louder in the winter?

Dynamat is always a plus. Hmm aren't we still doing GB on the aluminum material?

Well, we can do a group buy if after you (and/or I) install it and see what the effects are. No sense in promoting it unless we know that it works well for sure.

The problem is that there aren't too many more warm days remaining this year. The directions say to install in temperatures between 60 and 85 degrees farenheit (sp?)

Anyone know what that translates to in celsius?
