Trouble with backup lights and dash shifter lights.
I have a 93 automatic Camry. Some of the dash shifter lights work part of the time. D never does and reverse didn't untill I push it up just right and hold it. The reverse lights work when the dash R lights. I took the shifter cover plate off and I see a square shaped "switch or module" with four little phillips screws. Is this the shifter switch that is causing the problem? Is it hard to change out? I could probably get one at a junk yard pretty cheep. And does the side of the console come off easily? I'd like to fix this problem myself. Thanks for the help.
