CAI, Short Ram Intake, etc.

Guys, educate me on this, I want to do this, but do not completely understand the difference with Cold Air Intake, Short Ram, etc..

I have a 2.2 IL and I know paired with the Intakes, I have to do the headers and all, but I have heard about catback, whatever that is.

Educate me please.

What does it do, other than sounding good, I like the sounding good already, how much to spend, I do not have much to spend....

Short ram-tube and conical air filter that connects to the t.b. and sits in the engine bay (warm air intake) -Louder at low rpms

CAI-same thing as WAI but the air filter is extended to outside iof the engine bay to suck in colder air..denser air is better than warm. but not as loud either imo

A "Cat-Back" is the part of the exhaust which is just that..all of the piping and muffler behind the cat. converter.
-Ive heard there is a boral cat back but i cant find it..i think there is a TRD cat back too.
-If you go custom which ill prolly do , i will go 2.25 all the way back..if you wanted to keep some low end tq you would prolly wanna 2"

Hope this helps.

Thankas a lot, I did a search and since then have read quite a few stories. There's the $50 investment for a Short RAM over @ebay, been thinking about it.

Thanks again.

Thats a decent deal..the sound of your engine alone is worth it to me after you install a short ram.
