power band

hey as most of you probably already know 3vzfe's have all the power at the botom end of the band. how does one adjust this?... cause theres lots of rev left but just no power after 5500 rpm. would an ecu program help this?

Yes it would, so would a good set of cams and supporting valvtrain, not to mention lots of machine work on the 'F' head. Just a word of advice tho, changing the characteristics of a motor can become a major pain in the ass. Think of trying to get torque out of any honda motor :o .

well en even cheaper option i found on my v6 tho was to move the throtel posison senser the opisite way that the throtle opens. it changed my power band from ~5000 to ~3800. i 1st read this for the 22r engine witch is a 4. so it mite work. and does anyone know a cheap way to get the codes out of a 1996 ecu. the jump 2 pins and watch the check light thing doesn't work.

well the throtle senser just see's where the throtle at so when it is half way down it will think it 3/4's down plus i noticed that when it starts to get around 3900~4000 it kicks me to the back of my seat, instead of doing that at around 5000~5400.

cams can solve most of that problem and ecu will definitly help ... Opening up the intake ( i.e. port and polish ) can help alot. The common answer to help move the power band higher is opening up your intake and exhaust.. So I suggest try a high flow intake and a 2.5" and up exhaust system, can also move the power band to the higher rpm range...

the 3VZ-FE cams are all regrinds so basically you'll need to invest in news shims ... But, if you guys are really interested try talking to E.L. Prototypes for their set ... But, this isnt cheap because you'll need 4 cams...

I agree with Wraith. What your doing is pretty stupid.

Do you have any idea what a tps does or what it is for that matter?

I bet your car idles real good huh?

You need to have the codes read with a OBD-II scanner.

The TE1 and E1 thing doesn't work cos your car is OBD-II.
