4th Generation Any Reviews on Tein S-Techs or H-Techs?

My '98 Camry has KYB struts and Eibach springs (Camry model - 1.2" drop) all around, and I'm looking to soften up the ride. I feel like the front end is too stiff, and it doesn't seem like I have much travel up front at all.

I'm going to try swapping my Whiteline front sway for the stock bar to see if that helps a bit, otherwise I'm going to look into changing the springs.

Has anyone installed the either Tein spring, and if so, what's your experience been?

Thanks,

DJ

^ sounds like your struts rather than the springs to me if you're talking about travel...

The KYBs seem very stiff on compression but very weak in controlling rebound. They've been on for 33K with the lowering springs, so I was hoping that their resistance to compression would have softened a bit by now, but it really hasn't. I guess I just need to suck it up and change out my Whiteline front swaybar to eliminate that as a potential source of harshness.

The harshness is there on both my winter (15") and summer (15") tires, so I don't feel as though the wheel/tire combo is negatively impacting the ride.

It rides perfectly on relatively smooth roads, but when going over some medium bumps it feels like somethings going to break in the front end.

Thanks for the feedback!

no prob...i have the eibach springs as well, but for struts i have the TRD badged Bilsteins. the ride is very nice, corners great too & cut out a ton of that nasty body roll i was having before the install. the bilsteins are wonderful, nice and stiff but the ride is not far at all from OEM, quite smooth even on the crappy roads we have here in DFW area.

i don't have a whiteline FSB, i have a TRD upper strut brace and TRD RSB for the rest of my suspension set up so can't really comment on that.

you might want to also check out your bushings etc on the front to see if you see anything worn or torn...just a thought.

good luck,
keri

<- Tein S.Techs aggressive stance, more controlled feel, still relatively smooth ride (even with 40 series tires).

Hi there,

have you changed the Whieline? If yes how is your ride now?

Thanks, Doru
