Mod..yes or no?

w'sup people...i have a 1997 metallic silver Camry LE V6. It's a pretty fast car for a family sedan. I've pushed it a lot though and its been through a lot. No accidents, dents or scratches in and out. I have wood interior with cloth seats. I have a stock head unit with 2 12' cerwin vega subs. I havent touched the engine yet but im having doubts whether or not to mod it up. Once i get my job and have a down payment, im lookin foreward on buying 97 M3 or another nice car. But i mean, i should take the advantage i have now and use the money i make workin into mod'ing my car up, right??? im lost...HELP!
