First, I HAVE DONE A SEARCH before posting. *ahem*
Anyhow, I have been hearing rear rattles for quite a while. And summer is coming around, so its time for me to look into fixing this problem. I suspect its the rear strut mount from what other TN members have discussed (see, i have done a search). And have decided to get the KYB Rear strut mount and boot from Tirerack.
My question is, is there anything else I should look into that is another possiblity of causing the rattle at the rear?
And while i'm at it, what should I replace while the rear suspension assembly is taken apart?
And I heard about that the rear strut mount has the boot built into it. Is this true?
Thank you
PS: would Eibach springs with GR2 be a good combination?

Also check the rear sway bar bushings. These bushings wear out rapidly on the generation 4 and they may be the same on the generation 3. It was the rattle I had been chasing for 2 years in my wife's 98. To check, jack up the rear of the car and support it securely on jackstands. Now see if you can easily move the rear sway bar side to side with your fingers. If you can, the bushings are shot and need replacement. This is a cheap and easy replacement as all you have to do is remove 2 bolts that hold the clamp over each bushing and the bushing comes right out.
My1994 camry had a rattle and clunck from rear that I couldn't find for over a year. I emptied the trunk and spare tire, but it was still there. The struts were leaking oil, so I had them replaced and thought that would be the end of it. Nope. Finally I replaced the rear sway bar bushings and BINGO. That was it. Cost about $15.00 from dealership.

would a worn out bushing cause a bad ride? Cuz i my GR2 was installed about 1 yr ago, now it rides a bit harsh compare to b4. And sometimes I get bottomed out quite easily on harsh roads.
And the rear sway bar assembly only requires 2 bushings right?
