Question Interior Light <----Light Tester Testing???

Hi guys,
My interiors light does not work when i open any one of the 4 doors, i am just wondering can i use a light tester to test if there is power from the fuse. I had check the light bulb is working, but there no power comming throught.....so i am just wondering can i do the following to test the fuse(s).
1. Remove the fuse
2. Use the tester light ---->insert the tester light probe into the fuse location to test to see if there power???

I want to be sure its safe to do so...coz i don't to stuff up my car electrical.

Thanks

Just check the fuse, if it's out, then you'll see that the link in the fuse is broken. If it's not out, then it's probably the bulb.

What kind of tester light are you using? If it's an AC (house electrical) tester, then it won't work, because cars run off of DC power. Putting the test light probes into just the fuse wouldn't work, because the fuse only handles the positive current, not the negative. You would have to put one of the probes in the fuse location, and one on a grounded part of the car.

I did check there is nothing wrong with the bulb.....i also check there is no broken link on the fuse(s). I had try everything already....the only thing i haven't done is to check whether there is power from the fuse(s) even though there seem to be no broken fuse after taking it out individually and inspected!
