Quick question. When you install the upper tower strut bar, do you have to get an alignment afterwards? also, when you take the 3 bolts out of the top of the tower, will that dislodge the strut? should it be on jacks/lift when this is done?
thanks in advance all

well i installed my tower strut bar after i got an alighment...and and no it will not dislodge the strut as long as your car is in the ground...so dont jack it or lift it just leave it on the ground...the 3 bolts on top doesnt hold the springs its the nut in the middle that removes the spring...and so just take the 3 bolts out and install your tower strut bar...

^^^^yeah like he said.....lol
maybe this will help
take it off one side at a time and put the ends on, then put the bar in the middle and adjust it. IF you over tighten it you will need an alignment, just make it a little tight and lock it in place. You should notice the differance most during high speed cornering
Excellent. I noticed you have what looks like the SPW strut bar. I got a Toucan. Anyone had any experience with them?
I was going to get a SPW but it seemed like everywhere I went they had too many weird end. some were half-moons w/ only 2 bolts. others were like yours with 3. seemed kinda shady.
Oh, and ill definatly post some pics. I'll do a write up for installation like i did for my intake. Every mod I do im gonna write up a guide for installing. There is such a lack of installation guides. I figure it'll help noobs out. Just gotta get the mods to sticky them

yeah its the SPW the other ones pictured (2 bolt) are just the picture, not the actual one for our cars.

good luck
Hi, i noticed you have a 3 piece strut tower bar. when it came time to tighten it in place did you tighten it pulling inward or outward? pressing outward or pulling inward on the force? when turning the middle bar?

Yeah I have had gppd results from the SPW and actually used the Whiteline lower brace to help stiffen it up as well.
as far as the tightening I put it on and had it push out I guess a little. but what you are really looking for is to install it and have it hold everything where it is not really push or pull.
also when you have it on get your alignment checked. if it is off the brace is over tightened.

good luck guys.
did you have to put the bar the opposite way around cos i know somebody installed it and it hit the intake manifold whenever you accelrate.
there is one dude on TN who shaved the bar so that it will fit.
My photos...hope they help...

The nuts will stick up like this after the install. Not much you can do about it really. Torque to 59 pound-feet.
Remove the nuts on top of the strut mounts. Then put the bar on. Tighten down the nuts for the strut mount. Then tighten down the nuts between the center section and the feet.
The nuts on top of the strut mount are 14mm, and an impact comes in handy here if you have access to one. If you are doing this, my suggestion is you get a long handle ratchet, ie a 1/2 drive or similar. An impact will probably over tighten them. Most 3/8" drive ones don't have sufficient leverage for 59 lb-ft of torque...I can only get 25-30lbs with an 8" long 3/8" drive ratchet handle.
