Well, I was going to get my rotors resurfaced, but they are so warped, my mechanic said just replace them at this point. So he told me to buy what i want and he will install them.
First off, I am going to get cross-drilled Brembo's. Anyone know a cheap place on the internet to get them? And do not say ebay, because many of them are not genuine.
Secondly, i figure Ceramic pads will be good with the Brembo's. What would be a good brand to use, and where is a good place to get them. And would Ebay be good for them, or are there a lot of fakes like the Brembo's?
Thanks,
Adam

dont bother with cross drilled stuff...its too expensive and they rust out so much faster than a regular rotor. i doubt you'll need the marginal heat dissapation from the drilled rotors anyway...you can probably find rotors from a local car parts shop for around $20 a piece
cross drilled rotors DO rust, however they cool faster and tend to be a on the same level as slotted in terms of lifespan. Personally, the cramic pads with drilled rotors would be a way to go about it...probably the best, as far as places to buy www.summitracing.com
I'd go with Brembo Blanks and Hawk Ceramic or Akebono Pro-Act ceramics. Make sure you do a brake fluid flush, and clean and adjust the rear drums(if you have drums on rear)
I second the Hawk Ceramic or Akebono Pro-Act ceramics pads, either are an excellent choice.
Don't waste your money on the cross drilled (or slotted for that matter) rotors. They really won't help you any in street driving (even with some mild street racing)
Just get a QUALITY rotor. I really liked the raybestos PG PLus Professioanl grade
If you order quick "RockAuto 5% discount until March 29, 2005. Just enter this code 176146176716 in the "How did you hear about us" line of the shopping cart. I hope someone will find this useful"
does anyone have experience with PBR/AXXIS pads? they have ceramic pads and was wondering if they're good.
and about the cross-drilled rotors, u say they rust but how quickly do they rust b/c my friend has cross-drilled's on each corner and i haven't seen any rust or heard him complain about rust? (they're not brembos and he's had them since late last summer and drove his car in the winter w/snow and such...)
plus if you have aftmrkt rims, cross-drilled's just look good...

The reason I wanted to get cross-drilled, is because I am slowly building the car up, especially as stuff wears out. I do plan to take it drag racing too. And I live in a mountany area with 40-50MPH back roads down steep a$$ hills. A few times i have actually felt the brakes going because I was doing too much braking. Mostly that was in my old Gen3 I4, through the hills of the Adirondacks in upstate NY. I actually warped my rotors a little from that drive too.......... Gotta love going on a 55mph road, down a hill, around sharp as hell corners....Was fun though!

i do not personally think that cross drilled will really help in braking/heat for a camry. if it is a supra and running in a close circuit track, that would be critical.
go for it if you have the $$ for cross drilled.
i am not sure about the quality for those off eBay and if it is drilled by some Joe in a small shop. i have been looking / comparing between the www.tirerack.com and eBay's cross drilled and I noticed that eBay has less drilled holes in the rotor. Yes, I counted.
Might be just the pic but I am not sure about the workmanship of those drilled holes. Anybody bought cross drilled brembo rotors from eBay before???/
