Hey gang, well, the camry is going to see road tomorrow. I am way excited at this point. I have had the car in the garage since november and have been working on it sine december. I jumped onon the CF hood buy and got it on...it just didn't latch down all of the way. So I have my body guy coming tomorrow to put the new locking hood pins in it. Not a huge job, just one I am uneasy with doing myself. Now the wierd thing is that I still only have 1 seat in it and belts for it. So I won't be picking up people in the immediate, though I should have the other seat in it this week with harness as well. From there the car is going to the stereo shop for the new back seat instal...just going to have cosmetics and a flat surface where the seat was and then have a slim PS2 flush mounted in it. And then...onward to Venom NOS....I needed somewhere to put a bottle didn't I??
I know I have to get pics done of it...gonna be in more shows this year for sure. But the best is gonna be the venom kit.... that'll keep the local cops in business...lol
NOS is a different company from Venom... (just to pick on you a little bit. )

ok, so I got the hood on it...turns out if you modify the latch, repostion and talk dirty to it...you won't need hood pins on the invaders....never knew. Anyways, I got it out drove it down the highway, and I realize that my minor oil leak last year...seems much worse now, so I figure I'll get it to the mech this week as well....besides it needs a tune up and compression test anyways, I also need to order an assload of dynamat....with no backseat that car is insanely loud on the inside. I WILL have pics of it this week, geeting them done tonight, after I wash it. I also have to get the brackets done for the passenger seat tonight. But the car still has lots of power, and I am looking forward tothe shows with it

What??!!! i was bitchin about the hood the first month i got it in. aperently its just something ViS does. my buddie witht an accord had to do the same thing
It is BETTER to be SAFE than have a fucking hood come up on you on the highway!!!
In all seriousness and safety do NOT put yourself in danger and NOT put in hood pins. I know 2 other camry owners that had their hoods fly up on them because they thought hood pins were ugly. Please PLEASE PLEASE put hood pins on!
Does not matter about the latch or the way it's positioned. If you value your life and your passenger's lives PLEASE put hood pins on.

Yukio...don't wory hood latch works great now, I had to bore the center out a bit more, and also the hood sits about 1/8 lower with this mod. Actually, I think it holds it better now than the OEM set up did. I still have the pins, so if I feel scared, I can do it
