4th Generation adjusting valves

IS IT IMPORTANT TO ADJUST THE VALVES AT AT A CERTAIN MILAGE, MY CAMRY SOUNDS KINDA LOUND WHEN I FIRST START IT THEN IT QUIETS DOWN AS I DRIVE, OR IS IT ONE OF THE BELTS NOT A SQUEAKING NOISE 99,CAMRY LE ( 4) 112,000,MILES 99 ,white camry,5%tint all around,K&N DROP IN, WHITE SYLVANIA,stock XLE alloys on A LE, STOCK SPOILER STAINLESS EXHAUST TIP

Just so you know most of the Toyota valves are not easily adjusted. They are not adjustable in the sense of the word that most people think. They use shims to adjsut the valves so you have to get the right thickness of shims to be able to get it jsut right. In the 3 years I was a Toyota tech I can't ever remember adjsuting the valves on a Camry. Now 22R and RE that is a different story.

My old 1989 V6 24 valves had 198,000 on it, traded it in and lo and behold it is still for sale at the used car parking lot. I don't think the valves were ever adjusted, and although they were noisy when the car was cold, they sounded great after about 10 minutes, funny thing the car did'nt burn a drop of oil either.
