2nd Generation eBAY Strut Bar Installation

Hey, i just purchased a strut bar for my 1991 camry and it didnt come with any instructions...is there any special installation requirements that i have to do when installing it? does it matter how tight i tighten the bolt? also i need an alignment...so should i do that before or after the strut bar installation? thank you

nope...no special tools....just a ratchet and a socket set is all you'll need....take the nuts off the strut mount to the chassis, slip the bar on, and replace the nuts....I'm not sure about the tightness, but I'd say probably around 50ft/lbs

and if you have to get an alignment anyway, you should do it afterwards

more like you didnt adjust anything suspension wise... you can change a lower strut bolt and your alignment will be outta whack.

What does a strut bar provide?? Better handling! Do you need other mods to go with it? or does it provide something by itself........I was just wondering! Thanks Joe

first of all, there is always the COOL factor.
It should help in keeping
1) decreased body roll
2) counteract the natural forces your car confronts each time you are on the road by signifigantly reduce the severe flexing of the chassis and reduce understeer
3) Improves your handling by stiffening your chasis
4) Corners have less lean utilizing faster speeds
Stole this off eBay's posting

Honestly, i see marginal improvement or none at all for the normal street racer/user. Might come in handy for track racing.

It is just a basic bolt on, no other parts needed except for tools to install it.

FYI: strut bar comes standard on solara

Thanks for answering! So I guess a strut bar will be low on my list of mods
