This is usually and easy and free fix. Pull up the little rubber cover from the bottom of the switch. It will expose one 10MM bolt. Unscrew this bolt. Pull the switch out just about and inch. There is no need to disconnect the electrical connector as when you do it will probably fall down inside the area, never to be seen again. You will probably find everything all rusty. Take a small wire brush and clean all the rust off everything including the spring in the back and also the bolt itself. The bolt grounds the circuit to the body of the car. If you have some dielectric grease you may try putting some of that on everthing. Now, put the switch back in place and put the bolt back in and tighten it up. Everything should not work just fine. This should take about 10 minutes a side.
