It could take a small one. But personally, I don't feel like putting the extra wear and tear of it on mine since it is a daily driver.

The 5SFE can handle a turbo. Just not so much boost. Auto tranny will handle the power but not for long. You could look into putting 3SGTE parts into the 5SFE to strengthen it.

the hell are you talking about ??? The Celica and MR2 N/A's share the same engine as the camry but thats it... All are 5s-fe and they dont come turbo charged... The 3s-gte is the on that the Celica All-Track and the MR2 turbo share , but was never installed into a 3rd gen Camry...

I can't imagine anyone calling the 5SFE engine weak,
there's litterally millions of them on the road today with hundreds of thousands proably well over 200,000 miles, sounds pretty durable to me! I believe there are a number of guys, active on the internet, who have tried all kinds of things on the 5SFE. Through poor planning, engineering or execution, they could probably destroy most any engine. We did, with a poorly engineered turbo kit, from another manufactuer. It wasn't the engines fault, just try 6000 rpm, over 18 pounds of boost and no additional fuel going to cylinder number 4. What do you think would happen? I happen to have a 5SFE that runs day in and day out at 14 psi and has for several years.

Why no Intercooler?

Intercoolers are very expensive and would put the cost of this kit out of the reach of most people. We also have found them not to be necessary at 5 to 7 pounds of boost.

i agree with camcrazy

the only reason mine blew out was because of no tuning on my engine(my own fault) i got too anxious with putting on the turbo kit. the engine, even when busted, performed like a champ. i still believe that theres plenty of potential in the 5sfe, and if i end up keeping my coupe i'll prove it
