Fuel Filter replacing was a HUGE success!!

FOr those of you that are worrying or dreading to replace the fuel filter on your gen 4's, don't even worry about it. I just did mine today considering almost everyone that I talked to or read about, stopped me from doing it.I heard horror stories about bent fuel lines and leaking filters and gasoline igniting to huge flames. My local mechanic told me it would be about $50 for a filter and $40 for labor for a total quote $90. I insisted on doing it myself with care and bam! I replaced it in less than 15 minutes. My advice for you guys it to just be careful when you tighten the filter at the top and the bottom. Hand-tighten than use a wrench.

do i need to worry about air bubbles in the fuel line, etc

how hard is it to get to?
i have a gen3 and it was an ass to do so, thus, I still have the gen3 filter sitting there.

The upper nut on my fuel filter wouldn't even budge. As far as I know, it's been in there since 1994. I tried to loosen it but it just wouldn't budge.

Maybe I'll try to change it when the weather gets warmer. Just thinking about getting to the lower nut has me

Quick Question, will a fuel filter for a 90 (or maybe it was a 91) Celica fit a 97 Camry? I did a quick search online and the 97 Camry Fuel Filter isn't the same part as the 90 Celica Fuel Filter. However my father said it would fit in a 97 Camry does this sound right to you guys?

I would just go buy the filter for the Camry. They're not expensive, probably $25 or so, $35 max. Why even take a chance?

Mine had the same issue. That's why I paid a mechanic to do it.

There is also a filter sock attached to the fuel pump in the fuel tank that you should consider replacing. And there is a third fuel filter called the return fuel filter also located on the fuel pump assembly.

where are these filters located? I have a 2000 v6 and have only found the fill filter next to the airfilter on drivers side.

In the fuel tank. Remove your rear seat and you will see it.

so how many fuel filters..does the 2000 camry v6 have i need to replace mine

its been about 100k miles since i've had it replaced. and lately the car is idling rough and under 2k during acceleration it hesitates!

also going to replace the pcv valve while i'm at it

i need to go home and crack open the service manual and find out where all the fuel filters are and replace them...

do you guys recommending all the fuel filters or start with the one under the hood which is the easiest?
