Hi, I'm new and have tint question

Hey, I recently (yesterday) purchased a 96 Camry and want to get a system in it, I don't care too much about performance.

Has anyone tinted a green 3rd gen Camry? I've tried to find pictures on the net and on this forum but haven't seen any pics yet, I'm worried it might look kinda funny.

personally, i think tint will not look funny on any car, especially a dark color car (green). I think it will kinda make the windows match the cars color

um, my friend has a gold colored accord with fairly dark tint (dont know the %'s) and i think it looks good, but, then again, i think tint makes any car look better.

Yeah...tint can be tricky. For that very reason, I haven't tinted my car. There are various reasons that can make or break a tint job ie. manufacturer, installer and obvioulsy the colour of the car
I think cars that are tinted at about 35% all around look nice. I prefer lighter as opposed to darker. Another pet peeve of mine is doing the rear windows darker. Also, I find visability to be crap through tint.

Try browsing through here for your colour car;
http://www.camryman.org/cgi-bin/galleries.pl?index=1&gen=3&page=1

or even Ebay has a good selection of cars.

Here's a pic of my car with tint. I had 35% done all around because I don't like the two tone look. But I think any car looks better with a tint now. At first I thought my car would look funny tinted because it is white, and I thought there would be too much of a color difference but I think it looks better now. This is the only pic I have taken since I have had my tint. Sorry its not closer to a direct side view. Hope this helps.

Colored tints are ugly. Even if it does match the color of the car. Just stick with smoke or black tint. Clean look.

I have a 96 Green Camry coupe and got the windows tinted. I think it's 27%- at least that's what the stickers said for SC legalaity reasons. (I live in Mass, though- got it done in SC 'cause my parents live there, and it was $50 cheaper than ANYWHERE in Mass.) Anyway, I got the "black" tint, and I think it looks great. I don't have any pics yet, but maybe I'll take some this weekend and show ya. Go for it if you want it.

Here's my car with medium tints in the back and light in the front...Phi's right though, if I had to do it again, I would have the same tint's all the way around.

When you say 35% all around you mean rear windshield and door windows, not the front windshield right?

Heres a old pic of my car with 20% (SolarGard) on the back 5 windows. I was gunna do 5%, but the guy suggested that I do 20% instead cos 5% is really dark.
