How much would you expect it to cost for a drop of a gen 5 with either TRD or Tein Springs and professional install (would have to be done pro to protect the warranty) ? Also is there any other parts i would need to buy before they could install the new springs
install should be around MAX $200 at a dealership, and if you got a performance shop to do it, then it'd be probably around $100- it doesn't take them long using air tools and easy to use spring compressors that can be used with a drill

yeah so you guys thinking i can get by paying about 400 for a drop?
and yeah its definately getting professionally done, because even if my warranty would stay intact if i did it myself, i dont own spring compressors/torque wrench/jack stands/know how so i would prolly end up spending more and prolly shooting the spring through my heart.
i only got about 500 bucks to spend and really want to get some other little mods done to the car. what else would you suggest for that cheap?
if you go to an aftermarket performance shop and buy the springs from them, you can probably get away with getting everything including installation for under 400....IF you also buy the springs from them...
but by the same token, you'll have to look into your warrantee issues first though....it may stipulate that you have to have qualified mechanics, or even qualified toyota mechanics doing the work on your car
the people who work at those shops are just guys who know how to do stuff, and aren't qualified mechanics

Well i think my warranty is up soon (toyota gives 3 yr/36k miles warrnty right?). so after that will it still matter if something were to break later on?
I wanna lower my ride sooo bad, but have other priorities like my high c.c. bill as well as other bills and such. I wanna lower it with some Dropzones, 1.8"s bitch!
On a side note I had all 4 of my struts replaced at "Mavis Discount Tire" about 1 1/2-2 years ago but only have like maybe 3-5k miles TOPS on them. I know there not performance struts or anything but if I were to just install the springs how long do you thing i'd take for them to blow and need new ones. I know there are a lot of factors like your driving habits, mileage on them...that you have to include but anyone got a rough guesstimate??
I figure when I get some money to play around with i'd get a set (which is usually always on ebay) from there, which would be like $145 shipped and just go to a shop and have them install them.
I have too many plans and not enough loot to back them up.

do not get the springs installed at the dealership! THey're freakin' expensive! They told me it will take them an hour and a half for each side... This other body shop did it for me in 3hrs.
As for the warranty... it will get completely voided for anything to do with the suspension. Thats the downside.
