New gauges/head unit (installation pics of HU too)
I just got back from my father's a couple hours ago and installed my Blaupunkt Monte Carlo.
The night before (some of you may know) I did my white gauges.
Here's the quasi-DIY of a headunit in a gen3:
1) Remove old headunit and disconnect old wiring harness:
2) Install new headunit in brackets with new tray:
3) Match wires on wiring harness and player harness and solder them together:
4) Heatshrink the exposed wire:
5) Tape/tie sections of wires together so they won't be pulled during installation and so the connections won't come loose over time:
6) Install headunit back into car:
7) Fit the U piece back in and enjoy:
Here's a nice shot of the entire interior with the flash off too:
I'm still waiting on the #74 LEDs so I won't have the greenish 140mph section.
hey, i've also noticed how you have lights on your dials for like your ac controls and stuff, i don't seem to have those lit up when dirving, how do you turn those on, or i guess the question might be, how to fix them, cause mine are apparently not active, i hate fiddling around with those dials at night, i cant see crap.

yup, they should light up. the bulbs are replaceable, IIRC.
I think they're 74 bulbs. I plan to redo them with LED's and use video photography filters sliced up in red and blue to convert them to white, and once I get a working clock I plan to do the same with that. It should get me an entirely white dash/console.
