Try reving the engine slightly in Park or neutral. See if the noise is there without the car being in motion. This will tell you if it is engine (belt or internal engine noise) or drive axle/brake related. If it happens while the engine is reved and the car is not moving, have some one rev it slightly for you while you listen to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. A piece of rubber hose held to your ear and moved around to the various parts of the engine makes a good stethoscope.
A wild guess would be the brake pad wear indicators are beginning to contact the brake rotor, signifying it's time for the brake pads to be replaced. That's just a wild guess, as we need more information from you to offer a more intelligent diagnosis.
