Back in Town. Passenger Window = Shattered!!!!!

Hey guys,

I'm back from my vacation, virginia beach. man everyone over there is just obsessed with chrome rims, damn! I saw like a Carprice with chrome rims even, but specially all the GMC, Ford & Chevy SUV's with 22's or 23's rims. I got pic of a Sequoia (?), dont even remember if it was, but it had 23 inch chromes, they looked nice and huge!!

I just came home right now and I have bad news!!!

Somebody tried to get in my car, when it was parked at a mall in Philly. I don't know what he wanted. He tried to get in by breaking the passenger side window, but he couldn't. The window was out from one side and was into pieces when i came out, but the tint was holding the glass (and made it much harder to break). I was sooo pissed but couldn't do anything about it. The car alarm had gone off and nothing was stolen, thank god!

I do have pager alarm but i just lost the pager remote last week (magicar 8?00 anynoe got?) so I didn't get a page when it was triggered. I was using the backup remote, which just arms, disarms and starts-up engine.

What i really need to know at the moment is, does anyone have or know any place where I can get the passenger side window glass? I need one urgently and at a good price. Will the junk yards have em? How much do they go for? curious.

Thanks!!

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I would try junk yards first, then I would try the dealership.

Try Dixie Auto Glass... I got my front windshield replaced there, they paid my FULL deductable and they are very easy to work with.... I am not 100% sure if they do side windows, but search them up at the yellow pages...
Can't you claim from insurance?

The expense would be less than my deductable ($500) so there's no point, and the premium might increase. I contacted the security and they were going to call the police, and did suggest me that it will affect my insurance, and its not even worth it. So thats why I didn't contact the police, and it just happened the night before I was leaving from there.

How much does it cost to replace though??

My friend had almost the EXACT thing happen to him but he didn't have a pager alarm and the glass broke on his Honda Civic even with tint. Thankfully there was nothing to get stolen as he followed my advice about taking his deck with him until he got it tinted dark enough to not be able to see in. He got the new window at a junk yard for really cheap because he knew the guy from previous visits. I'd think that they would have one for you...

could be the color of the tint

if you look -very- closely at the color of windows, you'll notice that they're tinted either in blue/green and bronze. I believe that's what it means.
