racing a v6 camry

Does anyone know the typical quarter mile time for a gen 3 v6 manual camry? Also, does anyone race alot, b/c i've been arguing w/ my girlfriend for a while, b/c she says her uncles 2000 eclipse w/ a 140 horse 4 banger can beat me. I think this is impossible cuz of the 196 horse 6 in my car, but i know camry's are heavy. Let me know if anyone knows anything about how the camry compares. Also, how does a 90 celica gts (4 cylinder non turbo) compare? I am just getting frustrated w/ ppl telling me my car's slow, and not willing to race. I also have a cone filter, and an OBX racing muffler if that helps.

V6's haul a$$

my V6 automatic has smoked every accord, civic, kia :P that was a close one (sarcasm) that i have raced. i dont like to run my car like that alot but if someone is bugging me ill go. Just yesterday i beat a 5spd accord ex 96-97 model with a tin can on the back, neck 'n neck untill the torque in second gear kicked in between 55 and 65 mph and it was over. whoaa!
V-WHAT ha.

Camry2nr2004> Intergras are SLOW AS HELL! My friend has one with intake and exhaust and my other friends Mercedes ML320 can contend with it! If its manual cars you guys are racing, the driver can make a difference. If its some 16year old kid who has had his license for a month tries to race in a manual you might as well ride a bike, at least yours won't stall.

I agree the GSR and the Type R's are not slow. My friend has a 2000 Integra GSR with a turbo and he was running 14.5 quarter mile times in slc utah. The air is pretty thin up here!!

I meant the 4cyl base integra, not the type-r or the gsr, or an integra with a corvette engine dropped into it. I assume that camry2nr2004 meant the base integra.

while we're on integra's, i just destroyed an integra w/ body kit and exhaust. My car don't even look to good yet but it beat that. Has anyone raced an eclipse w/ a v6 camry? How'd it do?

I raced an older Eclipse Tsi a month ago in my v6 from a standing start. I just wanted to pass him from the right lane (at Kennedy and Sheppard for you Scarberians) and he gunned it as well. We were neck in neck (well, I had a bit of a lead but I took off earlier as well) till about about 80-90...then he finally let me pass!

I used to have a '96 Camry V6 and I only lost to Z28s, GTs, and other cars that are much faster. Other cars like V6 Accords, Preludes, Integra RS/LS, 300Z N/A, and etc. were pretty much a kill. V6 Camrys aren't fast but they sure as hell aren't slow.
