Question HID Light Conversion on Custom Headlights

Hey Guys,

I havent been to TN is such a long time, I've been caught up with all my school work and i haven't driven my car since september, its sitting in a storage garage till I get home in May, or until they clean up all the rocks on the roads. Well, to just update you, I've goten my car keyed while in the garage in my backyard, from the driver passenger door, all the way to the back on to the bumper (which i just got painted). I called the police, they couldnt help much. Oh well....

ANYWAY, I really need your help guys. I just got a set of custom headlights for my car, they have a acura projector inside it and the reflective back of the headlight is painted black, it really looks nice (like there was a marble inside). The only depressing thing is that i put them in, they looked awsome, but when you turn the headlights on, they light up but nothing is projected. It was like driving with NO headlights on.

Why? Because 9003 bulbs for 97 Camry's have a reflective tip painted on the bulb about a 1/ 4of the way down the bulb. This prevents the light for being shined directly forward, and instead, reflects the light back into the housing (like it would on a normal headlight, where the reflective background would take car of the rest).

Now, i want to do a HID conversion.

-What bulb type do i need? The 9003 bulb, or some other bulbs version?
-Does the 9003 mean that the base is the same as the 9003 bulb so that it fits right in to the original hole?
-Does the 9003 bulbs for HID's have the same reflective tip, which would serve me NO good?
-Do HID bulbs get REALLY hot, hot enough that it will melt the housing?

Thanks SOOO muuuch guys, if you need to reach me for anything, hit me up on AIM - LiLItalianKid793 -
