Hey which would truly provide more air to your engine, a short RAM intake like those from Injen, or would it really be better just to leave the airbox. Im not really sure because even though its an air box, the intake for it is still right behind the grill, while the short ram makes your intake alot further back towards the middle of the hood.
So my question is, would it really be worthwhile geting a short RAM or would it be better just to leave the stock air box (which kinda seems to me like a semi-CIA)?
Dont bother... i have a short-ram... and huh, i'm sick of its BS... but i cant get rid of the nice engine tone to it tho
sooo if you want the sound with very little torque increase in the low to mid range rpm... ooh and have 3 hours to make a nice heatshield out of 3$ materials like i did... THEN GO AHEAD...
but i would recommend just putting a k&n air filter in the air box... and if you want a little xtra, add a tornado
Short ram = ... but I don't know if I'd get an Injen one. Ebay shortram will do you fine for a fraction of the cost. Even though it might get hot it still breathes easier with a short ram (cone filter). For <$50-70 bucks... I think worth it.
I don't have one though
We just put one on my girlfriend's Accord and we DID notice an increase in fuel mileage.
its very little gain... but i beg to differ on the tornado... ive seen it in 2 different veichles, and i have seen a 10-15% increase in gas mileage on each one... but then again, its more for gas mileage, but it does add some hp
I love my weapon-R. very nice tone once i hit about 3000 RPMs (which is nice since normal driving it really isn't much louder than the stock sound of the engine, and with the ram air extension, it even muffles the sound more after 3000 RPMs) and it gives a nice performance boost. not anything crazy, but decent, especially around the 50-80mph range. low end suffers a TAD w/o heat shield and/or extension.

Weapon-R makes 2 for for Gen5's. Just not 5.5s. Secret Weapon and Dragon. I have dragon. Secret weapon seems like a gimick to me. But don't quote me on that. check it out:
I came on here asking about a weapon-r and everyone said not to get one. to get injen blah blah blah. But I went ahead and got one anyway, and I'm not sorry I did. Infact, Im really happy Those dyno tests and customer satisfaction reports they post don't lie. And they back their product 110%.

thats not "ram-air" and ram-air doesnt really effect performance under 100mph.

$145 for Dragon Intake. +$30 for heat shield and $45 for extension = $220.
Still less than injen.
Why pay more for less? Go Weapon-R IMO.
By the way, www.prostreetonline.com is an authorized Weapon-R dealer, and has the lowest prices out of anyone i've found on the web. If you get a Weapon-R, get it from them.

for hte last time it IS NOT "Ram"
an air ram is when you ram air straight into the throttlebody, and it also is only effective at very high speeds, all you have is a cold air intake, if that.

It's called cold-air intake.
Kid, don't waste your money on a short-ram. Remove the silencer box in the fender well and put a K&N filter in the stock airbox.
"Complete your intake system with the DRAGON FILTER HEAT SHIELD. This Shield bolts directly to the top of your Dragon Filter, and completely shields the filter from any heat to create additional Horsepower. To further complement your intake system you can attach the hose from your RAM AIR KIT to the top of the Shield to achieve a enclosed direct COLD RAM AIR CHARGE to your AIR FILTER. This Dragon Filter Heat Shield is made of heat resistant plastics to resist any Heat soak which may occur in daily driving. To install this performance upgrade to your Ram Air Equipped Intake System, you simply remove the Ram Air Hose from your Ram Air Adapter and unbolt the Ram Air Adapter from the top of your Dragon Filter. Next you align and slide the shield onto the filter, then bolt the shield down via screw on top of the shield. Finally you re-connect the Ram Air Hose to the top of the Heat Shield. Now your vehicle is are equipped with COLD RAM AIR.. "
