Camry V6 boosted tuning options

I picked up a v6 5 speed and am wondering about tuning options that people have used with turbo/sc applications. I am thinking emanage, or just safc if I can get away with it, I'm looking 250 whp and about 5-7 psi, so nothing groundbreaking.
Questions:
What is the sizing of 99 v6 injectors and experiences with max idc at what hp level?

What available upgrades are there for inectors, any other toyota oem offerings that bolt in?

I've seen that shiftgate is building a turbo system, are there any up and running, if not, who has the trd sc package running the best?

Also, I'm not a newb, I have the welding skills/r+d experience etc to do my own turbo system, so I'm not looking for help in that aspect. Just looking for this basic info without an exausting search, but hoping to add to the forum with the work I plan to do. Thanks

and 250whp is actually quite groundbreaking if you're only planning on running 7psi...to achieve that, it will take all the bolt-on parts that you can find including the jp headers, y-pipe, and exhaust, plus some really good tuning.

and for who has the 1mz pusing the most power? tony the tiger with a boosted 1mz...his numbers were around 280whp I think, but since then he has upgraded his turbo, rebuilt his tranny, better fmic, and has a standalone (i think)

other than that, everyone else has theirs blown, and they're not pushing that kind of power yet...

250fwhp would mean around 330hp in a hot na tune, which would be possible but costly. more costly for a 1mz then a 3vz, 3vz has a better bottom end mostly, and we also have profiles for ebtter intake cams done by companies, etc, the SMT6 makes an awesome ecu for us...etc

you can always run a 75 shot of nitrous

thanks

Thanks for the replies. TRD for life straightened me out on the injectors etc. I am going to try a safc at first and see how that goes. I am doing a single turbo setup gt32, but I was just wondering what problem the sc guys have run into. 250whp will be about the limit I want to do because it's a daily driver. Thanks

250 wheel is a bit over 300 crank, if the internals are staying stock, yroeu going to hav ea hard time keeping it together... 230 wheel would be a much more reliable drive.

still ya better off geting the TRD blower, 275 crank safe and reliable, no2 or co2 charged air intake will give you quite a bit more power (its kinda like the feel that nitrous gives you). or you can always have a 35 or 50 shot of nitrous when you need more then 275 crank

do ya suspension first. the camry really isnt that slow off the line.. but its a boat around corners.

There are three Solaras with fully built TRD supercharged engines boosting 9+psi. JoeB posts on here as well as shidosha01. I believe JoeB expects 400+whp with a small shot of nitrous. The most common problem affecting the mildly supercharged cars (like myself) are knock due to fuel delivery. I've never had knock problems but others have experienced a shortage of fuel to the front bank. Jim at Foreign Affairs has developed a fuel line upgrade that evens out the fuel delivery.

250 fwhp isnt groundbreaking for 1MZFE SC. I got 238 with SC,5.5 pulley,RMM intake and basically stock exhaust(TRD axle back) and it was 98 degrees outside.
To hit 250 w/a 5 speed all you need is SC,5.5 pulley, cat back exhaust, name brand intake on a sub 80 degreee day.

To hit 250 fwhp anytime do the above, but add the Underdog Racing Developmen kit and a reall exhaust. http://www.urdusa.com/Merchant2/merc...gory_Code=suk, for good measure I would add the Jims fuel delivery upgrade kit.

Total cost(brand new) :
New TRD SC w/ 5 yr warranty $2700(5 hr install)
urdusa SC upgrade kit $900(5 hr install)
urdusa 6lb pulley $130 (30 min install)
name brand cat back(Greddy,Apexi,Tanabe,JIC) $600(45 min install)
name brand intake(injen,RMM) $200(30 min install)
Foreign Affairs fuel line upgrade $200(2hr install)
---------------------------------------------------------------
total cost since install will be free(you) $4430

So devote $4430 and an entire weekend you'll be there.

I only have 5.5lbs.

IMHO with the upgrades mentioned 5.5 lbs should get the job done. 6lbs for sure.

If you got a used 1MZFE MT for around $7-12K, perform any needed maintenance add the list I gave for around $4430. You've got a hell of a reliable, insurable sleeper sedan or coupe that you can take grandma to church in.

^And you should be able to run about 7psi w/o blowing your motor so I guess 250whp isn't too hard at all.

The SMT6 is something to look into as well for fuel delivery and ignition control. I have been working with the unit for a couple years now on my Tacoma and with the soon to be released SMT7 i cant wait to start testing my MR2 and Tacoma with that unit.

THe URDUSA kit is pritty good but i dont really enjoy using the FTC unit as it doesnt allow for timing advnace and live tuning (shut down the vechile just to update the unit)

I hope to release a small -> Large fuel injection kit for the 1MZ in the coming year...will including injectors pump and all. THe larger kit will contain a upgraded fuel rail as well for people who want to push more power :P I am still in the research phase when it comes to the 1MZ but ill see what i can do.

I like the S/C route as the low end is alot of fun...however that coming from a RWD vehicle...FWD with so much low end can kinda be a drag so turbo lag isnt that bad at times......or you can just twincharge it
