Well im taking my cylinder head in today to get it ported and polished.... im unsure whats really going on with it, but ill keep updates and ill post some b4 and after pics!
The port matching itself is the least important of *any* port job. You get more gain by sanding the areas before the injectors as flat as you cans tand (taking the texture off) than you do by gasketmatching. (even if there is a huge gasket differance).
If you've got a v6 expect 25hp if they do a good job. If they unshroud the valves, expect 30.
They need to concentrate a lot of their efforts on sanding away the short side radious (if you get it back and it's not a gental round corner say half a finger digit long, you need to spend two hours with strips of dsand paper on the end of your finger, sanding it down gental and smoothe)
Between that and simple bowl reshaping, it's impossible for them to gain an extra 10 hp on that, through any efforts. (IMHO)
If you can suffer the cost of having them buy two extra valves (they'll destroy two unshrouding them) and the associated valve job afterwards. Defiantely have that done.
Unless it's a godly machine shop, it's next to impossible to fit even 1mm larger valves on the intake side. 2-3 mm is going to be the limit on the exhaust side.
When you get the heads back look into the exhaust port. If they haven't done much work in that area, you need to take some sandpaper on your finger (and a dremel with a flexi shaft attachement) and smoothe absilutely every bit of the sand texture out of the exhaust side that you can.
The less carbon that builds up there, the higher the flow you have.
(Porting the exhaust manifold isn't going to get you much, if anyhting, at all. Skip it)

Polishing like that actualy can reduce performance ask a good shop they leave some areas rough to increase air turbulance ..Still looks sick polished like that ..
