My parkers work fine on both sides, and all fuses are fine but when I put my foot on the brake the left brake light goes brighter but the right one remains the same. What could be the cause of this and how can i fix it. I have pulled of the light covers inside the boot and it seems that at some point 1 of them has been changed because they are a different brands but they have all the same wiring going to same bulbs.

The brake lights can be a 2 filament bulb; 1 filament for the parking lights and 1 filament for the brake lights. It's possible the second filament is burned out on the right one. You could try just replacing that right side bulb (bulbs are cheap) or you could try switching the left and right bulbs with each other. If the problem moves to the left side, you now know that bulb (now on the left side) is defective.
